Encycle helped a private multi-building high school in California reduce rising energy costs across its 30-acre campus. The school needed a low-cost way to automate demand response participation, manage HVAC loads remotely, monitor usage, and avoid adding more work for facility staff while maintaining comfort for students.
Using Encycle’s Swarm Logic, including Swarm DR and Swarm Portal, the school integrated control of 26 rooftop HVAC units to automate load shedding and provide real-time and historical performance data. Encycle helped the customer cut average monthly electric consumption by 28%, reduce HVAC electricity use by 139,434 kWh annually, lower peak demand by 55 kW per month, save $24,451 in annual energy costs, and avoid 97.4 metric tons of carbon emissions each year.
