Case Study: Large Grocery Store achieves HVAC energy savings with Encycle Swarm Logic

A Encycle Case Study

Preview of the Large Grocery Store Case Study

How Encycle Can Help Grocery Store Chains Achieve Substantial Savings on Their Hvac Energy Costs, Consumption, and Peak Demand

Large Grocery Store, a grocery retailer, needed to cut HVAC energy costs and peak demand without sacrificing comfort across different climate zones and micro-climates like kitchens and hot food areas. The store also wanted better maintenance prioritization, lower operating costs, and progress toward greenhouse gas reduction targets. Encycle’s Swarm Logic was used to address these challenges, with additional support from Swarm IQ for fault detection and Swarm Portal for real-time visibility.

Encycle’s Swarm Logic integrated with the existing building automation systems to optimize HVAC operation based on conditions like outdoor temperature and occupancy. The results included up to 14% HVAC consumption reduction, up to 29,283 kWh saved per site, average peak demand reduction of 55 kW per site annually, and energy cost savings of up to $4,750 per site, along with carbon reductions of up to 22.9 tons per site.
