Large Aluminium Manufacturer Drives Down Injury Rates With Enablon’s Safety Observations & Incident Management Solution

A global aluminium manufacturer with 14 production facilities serving aerospace, automotive and other industries sought to improve site safety after incident rates and days-away-from-work were not best in class. The company needed a standardized, multi-language system to capture and analyze high volumes of safety observations and incidents across North America, Europe and China to engrain a stronger safety culture and reduce recurring hazards.

They implemented Enablon’s enterprise EHS platform—including Incident Management, Behavior‑Based Safety observations, Metrics and Action Plans—rolling it out globally in 2012 to 1,300+ users and capturing some 38,000 observations a year. Standardized reporting, corrective-action tracking and trend analysis drove measurable improvements: global recordable injury/illness rate fell to <1.10 and days-away-from-work to <0.40, supported employee engagement, and produced data used for the company’s first sustainability report.
