Axiall Consolidates 70 Legacy Systems Into A Centralized Enablon EHS Platform

Axiall, a Fortune‑500‑sized chemicals and building products company formed by the 2013 merger of Georgia Gulf and PPG’s commodities chemicals division, faced the challenge of unifying two companies’ EH&S programs across 40+ sites. The merger left Axiall with about 70 legacy systems, distributed processes and experienced personnel who needed to align around a single, compliant management system while maintaining day‑to‑day operations.

Axiall engaged Enablon after a third‑party requirements assessment and rolled out a cloud‑based EHS platform starting with Incident Management, Action Plans and Management of Change, partnering with ERM for customization. The consolidated system retired legacy applications, delivered executive dashboards and standardized metrics (e.g., TRIR, on‑time action closure), and the project finished on time and under budget—improving compliance, efficiency and enterprise‑wide visibility while additional modules are phased in.
