Prince George’s County Public Schools - Customer Case Study

Prince George’s County Public Schools, one of the nation’s largest school districts, was struggling with an unreliable and costly mix of legacy phone systems. The district had widespread gaps in voicemail and caller ID, burdensome receptionist calls, frequent infrastructure failures, and a billing process that produced thousands of pages of paperwork each month. To solve these challenges, PGCPS selected ENA and its hosted VoIP solution, ENA SmartVoice.

ENA implemented a district-wide, fully managed VoIP system across 234 sites and 15,000 phones, with support from district teams and vendor partners. The new platform improved reliability, scalability, and communication features such as voicemail-to-email, five-digit dialing, and 911 intelligence, while dramatically simplifying billing from about 8,000 pages to just 2 or 3 pages per month. ENA’s flexible porting approach also helped complete the deployment despite large-scale scheduling constraints.
