Metro Nashville Public Schools Repels Rising Tide of DDoS Attacks

Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), the second-largest school district in Tennessee, needed a way to protect its classrooms and operations from growing DDoS and other cyberattacks without adding burden to an already limited IT staff. The district turned to ENA and its ENA NetDefender advanced, on-demand DDoS mitigation and scrubbing service to help safeguard student data and keep Internet access and curriculum-delivery tools available.

Working in partnership with MNPS, ENA tailored NetDefender to the district’s need for a proactive, “set-it-and-forget-it” solution that would automatically mitigate attacks in real time. In the first seven months, ENA NetDefender mitigated 205 anomalies with no classroom impact and no additional mitigation work required from staff, while its reporting gave MNPS clear visibility into attacks and helped demonstrate ROI to leadership.
