Idaho’s Blackfoot School District Wields Mobile Technologies and Seamless Connectivity to Spark Ingenuity and Innovation

Blackfoot School District No. 55, located in southeast Idaho, set out to create more reliable, high-speed campus-wide connectivity for its 4,000-plus students and staff. With more than half of the district’s devices already wireless, the district needed a solution that could support growing demand while also reducing the burden on its small IT team. To meet this challenge, Blackfoot partnered with ENA for a managed Wi‑Fi solution, ENA Air, along with ongoing network support.

ENA designed and deployed a customized wireless infrastructure by wire-mapping and heat-mapping the district’s buildings to place the right number of access points in the right locations. The managed Wi‑Fi service improved coverage and reliability across classrooms, offices, libraries, and even the gym, while ENA’s 24x7x365 support helped resolve incidents in about half an hour instead of half a day. ENA also later replaced Blackfoot’s outdated phone system with ENA SmartVoice, a fully managed cloud VoIP solution, helping the district avoid the cost of 13 separate phone systems and handsets.
