How Tennessee’s Tusculum College Successfully Leveraged Technology to Create a Thriving Distance Learning Program

Tusculum College, Tennessee’s first college, needed a way to grow enrollment, improve collaboration across its three campuses, and better serve non-traditional and distance learners. To support its new digital campus, the college worked with ENA and used ENA’s broadband, Wi‑Fi, and video collaboration services, including ENA Air and Video Collaboration Powered by Zoom, to build the infrastructure for online and hybrid learning.

ENA helped Tusculum create a scalable, cloud-based distance learning environment that supports both asynchronous and synchronous instruction, live class sessions, faculty collaboration, and dual enrollment for high school students. The results were strong: online enrollment grew from 120 students in 2011 to more than 900, the program generated over $800,000 in revenue, and VCPZ usage showed 154 meetings, 773 participants, and 47,688 meeting minutes in a recent reporting period.
