How Ohio’s Cleveland Metropolitan School District Leveraged Managed VoIP and WAN Services to Become Future-Ready

Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), the second largest school district in Ohio serving about 39,125 students, needed to modernize its aging communications and network infrastructure to better support 21st-century learning, classroom connectivity, and state testing requirements. To simplify operations and reduce capital spending, CMSD turned to ENA for managed WAN and cloud-based VoIP services, including ENA SmartVoice.

ENA helped CMSD deploy a new managed WAN and approximately 6,000 phone handsets in under seven months, with both projects completed ahead of schedule and under budget. The district consolidated roughly 32 end-of-life PBX systems, improved reliability and mobility, enabled a phone in every classroom, and streamlined IT operations so staff could focus on new initiatives instead of legacy telephony work.
