The customer, Microsemi Power Products Group, faced challenges in predicting and evaluating the RF performance of its industrial product packages. To address this, they implemented EMS, a simulation software from vendor EMWorks, to help calculate critical package parasitics.

Using EMWorks' EMS software, Microsemi was able to accurately calculate package inductance, capacitance, and impedance. This solution was instrumental in predicting the performance of new RF designs and evaluating existing ones that were difficult to test in a laboratory. EMWorks provided a valuable tool that enhanced the customer's research and development efforts for their RF chip launches and substrate circuitry.
