A Emtrain Case Study
In the House, a community for in-house counsel, partnered with Emtrain to better understand and address sexual harassment in the workplace during the #MeToo era. The challenge was that many companies believed their cultures were healthy and their reporting systems effective, while employee comfort with reporting misconduct remained low and training often failed to go beyond legal definitions.
Emtrain and In the House produced a survey-based white paper that examined harassment prevalence, training effectiveness, reporting practices, investigation quality, and gender differences in perception. The findings showed major blind spots: only 24% rated training as very effective, just 36% said employees felt comfortable reporting misconduct, and only 56% believed responses were even-handed across seniority levels. Emtrain used these insights to recommend stronger training, early intervention, better reporting and investigation procedures, and more women in leadership.
