Scaling usability — Intuitive HMI design for users of the OmniStar® product line
DREEBIT GmbH, a subsidiary of Pfeiffer Vacuum specializing in vacuum technology, needed an easy-to-implement and user-friendly Android-based operating system for the HMI of their GSD 350 gas analyzers. Their challenge was to deploy this on a cost-efficient Raspberry Pi Compute Module while meeting specific technical requirements like Kiosk Mode and application AutoStart.
The vendor, Emteria, provided its emteria.OS solution, which was built for the Raspberry Pi and met all of DREEBIT's technical needs. By leveraging Emteria's OS and support, DREEBIT drastically reduced their product development time from several months to just a few weeks, improving their time to market and successfully launching their first Android-based HMI product.
