SAIC Volkswagen and EMQ create a new generation of intelligent Internet of Vehicles systems

SAIC Volkswagen Co., Ltd. worked with EMQ Technologies to build a new generation of smart Internet of Vehicles platform. The company needed a secure, stable, and scalable way to handle massive MQTT-based vehicle messaging, including data reporting, remote control, configuration distribution, and message pushing, while meeting strict requirements for low latency, high throughput, and reliable operation in complex network conditions.

EMQ Technologies implemented an Internet of Vehicles solution based on EMQX Enterprise, using distributed clustering, secure TLS/DTLS access, a rule engine for data persistence, Kafka bridging, and mechanisms such as heartbeats, will messages, QoS control, offline messages, and security management. The platform launched successfully in 2020, reached hundreds of thousands of connected vehicles, and was expected to exceed one million by the end of 2021 while maintaining stable operation.
