SLAMTEC, a robotics company founded in 2013, needed to rapidly deploy contact-free delivery robots to Shanghai mobile cabin hospitals during the COVID-19 outbreak. The company faced tight timelines, limited on-site IT infrastructure, large and complex hospital layouts, and the need for low-latency coordination across multiple robots. To support its cloud-hosted RoboCloud platform, SLAMTEC used EMQ Technologies’ EMQX Cloud MQTT data access service.

EMQ Technologies helped SLAMTEC quickly connect new robots to RoboCloud, route high-volume sensor and navigation data, and coordinate multi-robot operations in real time. EMQX Cloud’s QoS, low-latency messaging, and high-availability service supported reliable instruction delivery and 24x7 operation. As a result, deployment time dropped from at least 15 working days to 6 days, the robots achieved about 120 meal deliveries per hour with a 99% success rate, and full-cabin meal delivery could be completed in 30 minutes.
