Case Study: EV Power enables integrated cloud-edge community charging operations with EMQX from EMQ Technologies

A EMQ Technologies Case Study

Preview of the EV Power Case Study

EV Power works with EMQ to enable integrated cloud-edge operation of community charging piles

EV Power, an independent destination charging operator in China, was facing the growing challenge of community charging at scale. Its network had to support highly dispersed and diverse charging equipment, difficult deployment conditions, weak or disconnected network environments, and increasingly complex back-end application management across multiple scenarios. EMQ Technologies’ EMQX was used to help address these IoT and connectivity challenges.

EMQ Technologies implemented a cloud-edge integrated charging platform using EMQX deployed in a private cloud, alongside EV Power’s self-developed VPN charging network, edge gateways, and BLE field computing solutions. EMQX Enterprise features such as the TimescaleDB data persistence plugin and message queue bridging helped support time-series storage, analytics, and data delivery to EV Power’s microservice system. The result was a more flexible operating model with strong stability and cost-effectiveness, enabling up to 30,000 concurrent data writes per second and as many as 30 million records per day, while also supporting real-time billing analysis and reduced infrastructure costs.
