EMQ helps building a new generation of smart power IoT system

State Grid Information and Telecommunications Group Co., Ltd. (SGITG) was building an enterprise-level IoT management platform for the power industry and needed to support massive, heterogeneous device access at scale. The company also had to handle hybrid connectivity for both power-industry protocols such as IEC104 and DL/T698.45 and standard IoT MQTT traffic, while enabling cloud-edge collaboration for real-time processing and management. EMQ Technologies provided the message middleware foundation for this effort, centered on EMQX.

EMQ Technologies implemented a distributed EMQX-based access layer capable of supporting concurrent connections from millions to tens of millions of devices, with multi-protocol plugins that converted power protocols into MQTT for unified transmission. EMQ also enabled edge data aggregation, real-time processing, and cloud-managed configuration of edge rules and access settings. As a result, SGITG and EMQ Technologies established a strategic partnership in October 2020 and accelerated the development and promotion of next-generation power IoT products with strong technical support for scientific research and business rollout.
