Employment Hero Unifies Stedmans’ Back office

Stedmans, a specialist staffing agency with more than 30 years’ experience in Sydney’s corporate hospitality sector, was struggling with fragmented back‑office systems. Standalone rostering, payroll and accounting platforms left payroll, invoicing and recruitment data siloed, forcing double‑handling of timesheets, manual data entry and paper‑heavy onboarding. Stedmans chose Employment Hero for recruitment, automated onboarding and payroll functionality to address these integration and efficiency challenges.

Employment Hero implemented a customised, unified HR/payroll/rostering solution, migrated employee records and put contracts and HR forms online, centralising all staff data and linking bookings to accounts. The switch eliminated duplication, freed up significant staff time — about 20 hours per week (roughly 80–100 hours per month) — and cut onboarding from around 60 minutes to about 1 minute (with new hires ready for rostering in as little as five minutes). Employment Hero’s platform allowed Stedmans’ teams to redirect effort toward recruitment, placements and staff development.
