University of Notre Dame - Customer Case Study

The University of Notre Dame needed to keep a unified brand and consistent messaging across dozens of decentralized departments while still allowing each unit to run its own communications. To meet that challenge, the University of Notre Dame adopted Emma, Inc.’s email marketing platform—using the Emma HQ tiered-account structure and tools to enforce templates, approvals, and brand controls across the institution.

Emma, Inc. implemented HQ features—template locking, an approvals dashboard, reusable templates, analytics and automation—so 69 units (including Notre Dame Research’s 25 areas, the College of Arts and Letters’ 23 departments, and the THRIVE! group of over 1,000 members) could standardize design, centralize branding, and measure results. The change produced clearer, more professional newsletters, higher engagement (newsletters earn more clicks than social posts), and data-driven changes (cleaner templates and better resource allocation) that improved internal and external communications across the university.
