Thistle Farms, a nonprofit that supports women survivors of prostitution, trafficking, and addiction, wanted to ramp up its email marketing to reach more people and improve engagement. They partnered with Emma, Inc., working with Emma Services to grow a higher-quality subscriber list and redesign the new-subscriber experience.

Emma, Inc. implemented a mix of tactics — a timed 7‑second lightbox on the website, a text‑to‑join program (text LOVEHEALS to 444999), and a refreshed, preference-driven welcome series with A/B testing and updated templates. These changes helped Thistle Farms add 6,032 engaged subscribers, produced an average welcome-series open rate of 58% and click rate of 24%, and nearly doubled overall open rates from ~15–20% to about 30%, all with ongoing support from Emma, Inc.
