Aligning sustainability ambitions with profitability

Pregis, a global packaging company and signatory to The Climate Pledge, needed to transition away from petrochemical‑intensive materials and make product decisions that align with ambitious net‑zero (2040) and financial objectives. To gain accurate scope 1, 2 and 3 visibility and streamline emissions reporting, Pregis partnered with Emitwise and adopted its carbon emissions software to centralize data collection, emissions calculation and sustainability reporting.

Using the Emitwise platform, Pregis has informed sustainable product design, prioritized suppliers, and strengthened customer collaboration—shifting its portfolio toward more fibre‑based packaging and earning 56% of revenue from sustainable products last year. Emitwise-calculated outcomes include diverting 91% of solid waste from landfill in 2023 and a 6% reduction in waste emissions; the platform’s data is now used for annual reporting, investor relations and customer scope 3 calculations, driving cost savings and improved customer relationships.
