Billabong, a global surf and lifestyle brand, wanted to transform its eCommerce by letting customers design custom wetsuits online. The key challenges were delivering high-quality 360° visuals so shoppers could preview and select color/graphic options for each suit panel, ensuring detailed views from every angle, and providing a way to save, share and replay configurations.
Using Emersya’s platform, Billabong created an Interactive 3D configurator that defines customizable zones (including logos), renders real-time color and material changes in the browser (no app or plug-ins), and links a custom UI to the 3D viewer via simple API calls. Customers can click any part to edit it, zoom to inspect details, save/share designs via a unique URL and screenshot, add favorites, and add custom items to cart—streamlining the buyer journey and enabling shareable, replayable custom wetsuit designs that integrate directly with Billabong’s order process.
