Anthem, the health insurance provider with 20,000 employees, needed a modern travel and expense process that would work the way its travelers do: mobile-first, easy to use, and integrated across booking and reporting. Its existing systems were outdated, didn’t sync well, and made it harder to drive adoption, enforce policy compliance, and get real-time visibility into spend.

Emburse, working with Sabre’s GetThere online travel solution and Chrome River expense reporting, provided Anthem with a combined, mobile-centric travel and expense platform. Travelers can book flights, hotels, cars, Uber rides, and submit receipts from a phone, while data flows automatically into expenses for real-time tracking and approvals. Anthem reported strong adoption and far better visibility, with the system down only once for about an hour in 18 months and uptime cited at 99.96% for Chrome River and 99.98% for Sabre.
