Testing and validating network slicing with Telenor

Telenor, a major telecommunications operator, was confronting the challenge of deploying and validating automated, dynamic network slices for enterprise services. The complexities involved ensuring multi-vendor interoperability, meeting strict SLA and QoS expectations, and enabling continuous deployment within their 5G standalone core, all before real RAN equipment was available. To address this, they collaborated with Emblasoft.

Emblasoft provided its Evolver platform with the Slice Instantiation and Performance Monitor to automate the testing and validation process. The solution used simulated gNodeBs and UEs to instantly test new slices for availability, connectivity, and performance as soon as they were orchestrated. The results demonstrated that slice deployment could be accelerated by as much as 70%, providing the agility required for commercial services and validating user plane data performance for specific use cases like URLLC.
