Shaffer Entertainment, a Midwest operator of bars, bowling centers, family entertainment centers, movie theaters and restaurants headquartered in Columbus, OH and Indianapolis, IN, faced declining revenue streams and accounting/security issues from coin, ticket and token operations after changes in customer behavior and indoor smoking bans. To modernize and eliminate labor‑intensive cash handling, Shaffer engaged Embed and deployed the Embed System — including kiosks, AIO and SmartTOUCH card readers, EMONE kiosks, POS/redemption stations, game cards and central games management software.

Embed implemented a cashless, centrally managed solution across Shaffer’s sites (350 AIO readers, 202 SmartTOUCH readers, 20 kiosks including 5 EMONE units, 14 POS/redemption stations, and coverage for 20 Punch Bowl Social locations), improving visibility and operations.
