Hitachi Medical Computer Systems, Inc. needed to build DELTA View, a dental image viewer that was intuitive to use with minimal on-screen interaction, while also supporting both Windows and iPad from a shared codebase. Using Embarcadero Technologies’ Delphi XE4 and FireMonkey, the team aimed to modernize DICOM image handling and create a fast, tablet-friendly experience for dentists.

Embarcadero Technologies helped Hitachi Medical Computer Systems deliver a highly responsive, multi-platform application with a consistent look and feel across Windows and iPad. The image viewer portion was completed in about one month—around a third of the expected time—and the iPad app was running within one month of starting from the existing Windows codebase, with the final iPad version released after three months. The Windows version was adopted by more than 400 dental practices within six months.
