bit Time - Customer Case Study

bit Time, a software development consulting firm in Rome and an Embarcadero partner, wanted to build an Android game but needed a fast, low-dependency development stack. Using Embarcadero Technologies’ Delphi XE2 DataSnap Connectors and InterBase, they looked for a way to avoid the slower performance and platform limitations they saw with Java and .NET.

Embarcadero Technologies helped bit Time implement the Connect4 Android game with Delphi/DataSnap for server communication and InterBase as the backend database. The result was a lightweight, zero-maintenance solution that supported multiplayer callbacks efficiently, with each match handling about 60 DataSnap requests. The game has been downloaded 10,000 to 50,000 times, reached players worldwide, and generated revenue through mobile advertising.
