A EMAM Case Study
vevo, a major media company, was hampered by an outdated on-premise archive using a costly LTO tape library. Issues with old hardware, mechanical failures, and offline tapes caused significant delays in accessing content and high maintenance expenses for vevo. They engaged EMAM to address these challenges and migrate their assets to the cloud.
EMAM deployed its eMAM system in Microsoft Azure, developing a strategy to migrate the SQL database and copy content from the problematic tapes to Azure BLOB storage. This new cloud-based infrastructure provided vevo with a centralized, scalable archive featuring predictable retrieval times and global access to content. The solution successfully migrated over 1.5 million objects (130+ TB), drastically reducing infrastructure costs through a pay-per-use model and enabling new opportunities for AI-driven workflows.
