Case Study: L3Harris achieves paperless, on-time maintenance and streamlined compliance with eMaint

A eMaint Case Study

Preview of the L3Harris Case Study

U.S. defense firm retrains on eMaint to optimize usage, eliminate paper, streamline compliance

L3Harris, a leading U.S. defense technology company, had used eMaint CMMS since 2012 at its Ocean Systems facility in Sylmar, Calif., to manage maintenance on sonar and sensing systems. Over time the system became cluttered with thousands of unresolved PM work orders and outdated asset data, leaving the maintenance team unable to produce the detailed documentation corporate auditors required.

In November 2019 the team completed a five-day eMaint boot camp, cleaned and restructured the database, removed obsolete assets and work orders (cutting active PMs from 714 to 432), and configured automated, paperless PM tracking and contractor notifications. The optimized CMMS boosted on-time PM completions by 46%, improved on-time delivery to customers by 9%, strengthened auditability, and helped the unit exceed corporate continuous-improvement goals.
