Afonwen Laundry successfully automates workflows, processes, and procedures using eMaint CMMS software

Afonwen Laundry, a high‑volume UK laundry service processing more than 1 million linens a week for nearly 300 hotels, needed a better way to manage 130+ assets with a small maintenance team. Relying on spreadsheets and paper made it hard to improve asset reliability, measure machine performance, monitor PM completion, generate corporate reports, and detect impending failures—especially after investing over £1 million in new equipment.

Afonwen implemented eMaint CMMS (chosen for its Fluke affiliation, scalability and mobility) at its Cardiff plant and then rolled it out to nine locations, standardizing PMs and streamlining workflows. The system enabled hourly production rates and a downtime/pieces‑per‑hour formula to accurately track asset performance, justified replacing a failing machine, improved KPI reporting and PM compliance, reduced reactive maintenance, and increased reliability and visibility across the business.
