Case Study: National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences accelerates metabolomics analysis with Elucidata Polly

Polly El-MAVEN and multi-omics data analysis Cloud Processing of Metabolomics Data

National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), part of the NIH, needed a way to process and analyze very large high-resolution mass spectrometry metabolomics datasets that were too heavy for conventional workstations. They worked with Elucidata and its cloud-based Polly platform, including the El-MAVEN application, to support end-to-end LC/MS metabolomics data processing and downstream analysis.

Elucidata’s Polly workflow used El-MAVEN for fast peak integration, metabolite identification, and curation of large datasets, then the Dual-Mode Data Visualization app and Polly IntOmix for normalization, quality checks, statistical analysis, and pathway/network interpretation. The solution enabled secure, collaborative cloud processing of hundreds-of-GB datasets and delivered high-confidence metabolite assignments, broad pathway coverage across nearly 600 metabolites, and faster generation of actionable multi-omics insights.
