Curated Biomedical Company needed a faster, more reliable way to predict survivability outcomes for patients with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma, a complex cancer with high heterogeneity. Working with Elucidata, they used Polly, Elucidata’s curated biomedical data platform, to access ML-ready multi-omics data and clinical metadata from Liver OmixAtlas.

Elucidata integrated TCGA mRNA, miRNA, and DNA methylation datasets, normalized and selected features, then trained an XGBoost classifier on AWS SageMaker to predict patient survival. The model achieved an ROC AUC of 0.681, precision of 0.875, and specificity of 0.571, showing that curated multi-omics data can support useful predictive modeling for translational research.
