Bakersfield College, a two‑year public institution serving over 15,000 students, needed to create seamless transfer pathways so community college students could move to four‑year programs without repeating coursework. To support its Finish in Four initiative, the college partnered with Ellucian and implemented Ellucian Banner as its central data repository.

Ellucian Banner allowed Bakersfield College to pull curriculum, course‑taking patterns and unit data and combine that insight with direct student feedback to redesign transfer pathways and improve the student experience. As a result of the work with Ellucian, the college has seen a significant uptick in the number of degrees awarded and an increase in students successfully transferring to bachelor’s programs.
