A Ellucian Case Study
The University of California, Riverside, a four‑year public research institution of about 24,000 students (over 20,000 undergraduates) with a large low‑income, first‑generation population, struggled with a degree audit system that could not represent the complexity of senate‑approved academic requirements. To address this, UC Riverside implemented Ellucian Degree Works from Ellucian to provide a more reliable, accurate degree audit.
Ellucian deployed Degree Works and its Student Educational Planner to accurately program complex degree rules, allow advisors to add individual student exceptions, and assign four‑year degree plans at matriculation. As a result, Ellucian Degree Works made audits more reliable, supported the campus Finish in Four campaign by giving students a roadmap before orientation, and helped students stay on track to graduate on time.
