A Ellucian Case Study
The University of California, Riverside needed to improve guidance and outcomes for first‑generation and transfer students who often come from community colleges on different academic calendars. To address admissions, registration, and advising gaps, UCR partnered with Ellucian and implemented Ellucian Banner to support dedicated processes for this population.
Using Ellucian Banner, UCR implemented special admissions and registration procedures, leveraged out‑of‑cycle admissions SIS capability to align with community college schedules, and built transfer‑student dashboards that give advisors a single pane of glass into student progress. These changes streamlined transfer workflows, improved alignment with partner colleges, and provided advisors with consolidated data and tools to better monitor and support first‑generation transfer students.
