University of California, Riverside needed to provide students and advisors with centralized access to advising resources and a user‑friendly interface. To solve this, the university implemented Ellucian Banner Student Self‑Service (Banner 9) as the single launch point for degree audits, unofficial transcripts, class schedules, and advising tools.
Ellucian configured Banner with a customizable course catalog, a shopping‑cart registration model, term planning and advisor approval workflows, and previews of registration errors, giving advisors clear insight into student progress and plans. As a result, Ellucian’s solution streamlined advising and enrollment, improved intervention and planning capabilities, and made course search and registration more transparent and efficient for the university’s 15,000+ students.
