Universal data model streamlines move to cloud

Southern New Hampshire University faced the dual challenge of integrating disparate systems and protecting sensitive student data while moving core services to the cloud. To meet this need the university partnered with Ellucian and deployed the Ellucian Ethos platform.

Ellucian implemented Ethos’s universal data model with publish-and-subscribe and request‑response APIs, plus field-level security to prevent exposure of PII and enforce controlled access. Running on AWS, Ethos streamlined SNHU’s cloud migration, enabled real-time data sharing, and earned a security assessment rated as low risk—delivering faster, more secure integration and stronger data governance.
