St. Peter’s University taps Ellucian’s Academic and Grants Services to create a unique online learning experience

St. Peter’s University, a private Jesuit institution in Jersey City with about 3,300 students, wanted to launch an online BA/BS in business that would attract adult learners and stand out in a crowded market. To create a distinctive, academically rigorous program with a “twist,” St. Peter’s partnered with Ellucian’s Academic and Grants Services to design a gamified online curriculum that preserved the university’s high standards while speeding time to market.

Ellucian worked with faculty to build gameful‑learning modules and assessments, producing 22 online business courses in an 18‑month period that let students “level up,” earn badges, and engage more proactively with material. The Ellucian-designed program has driven positive faculty adoption and strong anecdotal student engagement, increased recognition for the institution, and delivered a unique online offering aimed at helping students succeed.
