Simplifying the graduation application process

Campbell University, a private institution in North Carolina serving about 6,300 students across four campuses, faced a cumbersome, paper‑heavy graduation application process with 12 separate forms, manual data entry into spreadsheets, and frequent rejections and delays. To address this challenge, Campbell engaged Ellucian and its Ethos platform to centralize and modernize integrations across campus systems.

Using Ellucian Ethos (with Ellucian Colleague data and Ethos Extend) the university built a single, pre‑populated graduation application and bidirectionally integrated the OnBase CMS so submissions and feedback flow automatically. The Ellucian solution cut registrar processing from days or weeks to under a minute, reduced reprocessed applications to only a handful per cycle, lowered IT maintenance needs, and measurably improved the student experience.
