Southern New Hampshire University faced delays and fragmentation in student data that hindered timely advising and CRM outreach. To improve the advising experience, SNHU partnered with Ellucian and deployed Ellucian Ethos (integrated with MuleSoft) to create a campus-wide integration bus that would deliver real-time student information to advisors and systems.
Ellucian implemented Ethos as the central integration layer with MuleSoft acting as a proxy, enabling publish‑subscribe and request‑response APIs so data flows instantly across systems. As a result, system integrations were streamlined, data updates became real time, and advising was personalized — reducing the time to surface an applicant or update to an advisor from hours or days to about six seconds and enabling immediate outreach on issues like failing grades. Ellucian’s solution delivered measurable improvements in responsiveness and student support.
