NUI Galway streamlines the application process with Ellucian CRM Recruit, delivering an improved experience for staff and students

NUI Galway, a leading Irish university with about 18,747 students, needed a modern, flexible application system to support plans to increase postgraduate intake by over 10% and boost international recruitment. To meet this challenge the university selected Ellucian’s CRM Recruit to consolidate EU and non‑EU applications, take direct application payments, and streamline its admissions processes.

Ellucian implemented CRM Recruit in just over four months (June–November 2018), integrating payment processing and eliminating many manual workarounds. The solution reduced application review time by about a third (no longer averaging five minutes per application), created a new self‑funding fee stream, and delivered faster, more efficient postgraduate admissions—setting NUI Galway up for improved recruitment and future initiatives. Ellucian supported the university throughout the rollout.
