New Jersey Institute of Technology evolves into a truly global campus

New Jersey Institute of Technology worked with Ellucian to rapidly scale its Converged Learning Model (CLM) at the start of the pandemic, needing to seamlessly and safely connect in-person and remote instruction across its Newark campus of about 11,000 students. The primary challenge was accelerating deployment of technologies and processes to support hybrid course delivery while maximizing classroom safety and utilization.

Ellucian implemented a suite of solutions—Ellucian Banner, Banner Page Builder, Banner Document Management, Ellucian Cloud and Ellucian Degree Works—to automate processes and support a hybrid learning environment where remote and in-person students are fully supported. As a result, NJIT achieved an all-time high 89% fall-to-fall retention, a 3% increase in undergraduate enrollment, and a 75% reduction in transfer processing time due to automation.
