Kent State University invests in Ellucian Ethos to meet its business objective

Kent State University, a 4‑year public institution of more than 15,000 students, faced a need to manage data more effectively and move from “pockets of excellence” to an enterprise approach. To meet that challenge, Kent State invested in Ellucian’s Ethos platform to provide a purpose-built higher‑education data model and a unified way to understand students across their entire lifecycle.

Ellucian implemented Ethos as the university’s integration and data model layer, threading workflows across systems, extending the value of existing vendor investments, and acting as the central store of institutional information. As a result, Kent State gained a clearer understanding of students throughout the lifecycle, increased the ability to extend functionality across its ecosystem, and achieved greater stability in strategic planning—outcomes the university attributes directly to its partnership with Ellucian.
