Pacific University, a private institution in Forest Grove, Oregon serving about 3,500 students with additional campuses in Eugene, Hillsboro, Woodburn, and Portland, faced the challenge of sustaining an enrollment boost and improving recruitment and retention after reinstating its football program. To build on that momentum and better target best-fit students while improving the prospective student experience, Pacific University implemented Ellucian CRM Recruit from vendor Ellucian, seeking a recruitment-centric system that integrates with their existing Ellucian Colleague platform.

Ellucian delivered Ellucian CRM Recruit integrated with Colleague, enabling segmented, personalized communications, automated visit texts and forms, real-time dashboards, and faster application processing (including standing up targeted applications within a day for students from closed institutions). The solution improved recruiting outcomes and data accuracy, increased staff efficiency and self-reliance, and eliminated repetitive import work—saving roughly 100–120 programmer hours per year—while giving Pacific actionable reporting to better target and grow enrollment.
