Hawkeye Community College brings together faculty and staff to improve student outreach

Hawkeye Community College, a public two‑year institution serving approximately 5,000 students across the Cedar Valley in Iowa, needed a way to standardize student support across disparate systems and better reach a diverse population facing financial, transportation, mental‑health, and college‑readiness challenges. To address this, Hawkeye selected Ellucian and deployed Ellucian CRM Advise to create a unified platform for advising, alerts, and outreach.

Ellucian implemented a consolidated CRM and an alert portal (launched spring 2018), which generated more than 100 alerts immediately and was rolled out to all faculty by fall. Using Ellucian CRM Advise, Hawkeye achieved a single system to manage student support, improved communication and status updates between faculty and advisors, and more proactive engagement with at‑risk students—giving staff better visibility into student and program success and a foundation to increase retention.
