Southeast Community College (SCC), a public 2-year college in Lincoln, Nebraska serving about 10,000 students, faced an out-of-date quarter-based calendar and widening workforce skill gaps that hindered enrollment, advising, and career readiness. To address these challenges, SCC partnered with Ellucian and implemented Ellucian Colleague and CRM Advise as part of a broader operational overhaul.

Ellucian helped SCC convert to a semester-based calendar, map course availability across its 15-county service area to align with workforce needs, and establish a data-driven advising model. As a result, SCC saw a 12% increase in student success under the new advising model, a 5% increase in retention, and a 1% enrollment increase in 2021, outperforming the 6% national decline.
