Banner 9 creates enthusiastic users as it enhances Old Dominion University’s registration process

Old Dominion University needed to modernize and scale its student registration system to improve usability and support future Banner applications. Working with Ellucian to adopt Banner 9 Registration, the university sought a clear deployment strategy, readiness assessments, staff training, and infrastructure updates so new modules could be added without disruptive reimplementation.

Ellucian delivered Banner by Ellucian—implementing Banner 9 and Banner Registration alongside readiness assessments, training, a hardware refresh and virtualization—to make Old Dominion the first Virginia school to launch Ellucian Banner 9 Registration. The solution produced a simpler registration experience, enabled more than 6,600 incoming freshmen and transfer students to register before classes began, and established a scalable platform for future Banner apps and operational efficiencies.
