At the University of the West Indies, digital transformation enhances the student experience

The University of the West Indies in Cave Hill, Barbados launched a “Smart Campus Initiative” to integrate IT across operations and better adapt services to changing student needs. To support this digital transformation, the university partnered with Ellucian and deployed Ellucian Banner alongside Ellucian Cloud.

Ellucian implemented a Banner-integrated LMS on Ellucian Cloud, enabling expanded access to student support services, improved operational efficiency, and delivery of comprehensive online learning during the pandemic. The Ellucian solution helped The UWI meet its five-year strategic goals and delivered measurable impact: a 73% reduction in orientation costs, 80% student satisfaction with online classroom support, and 95% satisfaction with orientation module clarity.
