San Jacinto College Unlocks Hidden Credentials and Funding with Ellucian Award

San Jacinto College partnered with Ellucian to address a new Texas funding model tied to credential completion. Facing manual, spreadsheet-heavy graduation processes that missed eligible students, the college needed a better way to identify students who had completed degree or certificate requirements, including those in undeclared programs.

Using Ellucian Award, San Jacinto College automated credential discovery, internal audits, and awarding workflows across more than 100,000 student records. In just two months, Ellucian helped the college identify and validate more than 1,100 additional graduates, reduce manual review time, and potentially unlock an estimated $553,000 in state funding while helping more students receive credentials they had earned.
