The Art of Implementing Ellevation Strategies

Birdville ISD, a Texas district serving 5,000 English language learners, needed a better way to support ELL instruction beyond compliance and manual LPAC processes. After using Ellevation to streamline its paper-based LPAC work, the district wanted to give teachers clearer insight into student needs and improve differentiation and confidence in teaching language alongside content.

With Ellevation Strategies, Birdville ISD rolled out a districtwide implementation plan that included leadership buy-in, train-the-trainer sessions, ongoing monthly communication, and job-embedded professional development. Ellevation’s digital library of 80+ research-based activities helped teachers apply sheltered instruction right away, and the district saw strong engagement, including nearly 10,000 views of its monthly flyers, along with teacher reports of greater confidence in differentiating instruction and better ability to group and support ELLs.
