Pascagoula-Gautier School District boosts EL learning for 13% of students with Ellevation

The Pascagoula-Gautier School District (PGSD), with the second-highest English Learner population in Mississippi, faced the challenge of overhauling its EL instruction framework to better serve its growing student demographic. The district partnered with the vendor Ellevation and utilized its comprehensive EL platform as part of this new initiative to improve learning outcomes.

Ellevation's solution provided PGSD with a data and instructional planning platform to streamline collaboration, manage monitoring forms, and keep families informed. By leveraging Ellevation's tools alongside the SIOP framework, the district fostered greater expertise, collaboration, and community. As a result, PGSD became the first district in Mississippi to implement a Seal of Biliteracy program and made significant strides in integrating EL families and disseminating best practices for all students.
